To those that don’t know me, I have played with Marist Hockey Club since a Junior. I have been lucky enough to win Multiple Premierships as player and hope to win My first SWHL Women’s Premiership this year as coach. I’ve been an assistant Coach for the last three years for the mens side and have learnt lots along the way. As a Coach, I believe it is important to develop all players via training as one group and not separating the grades. This helps us achieve a unique style of hockey across our club which I’m confident will make us successful in our goal of a 2019 Premiership. We are excited to see what the year of 2020 brings for us and the club as a whole. Joey Cosenza
Where do I begin... I started playing hockey at the age of 10 in primary school before progressing to play for Marist Juniors. With over 30 years experience in the sport, I have traveled around the world as a forward to Malaysia, Brunei, Penang and Kuala Lumpur. Following my passion, I stepped up and joined the club as a Senior player and have played well over 700 games and scored more than 300 goals in all 3 mens grades. In 2015 I was fortunate enough to even play in the Australian Masters over 40's side vs New Zealand resulting in a final score of 3-0. Over the last 6 years I have taken upon the role as a coach for the juniors as well as the Mens teams and have placed a strong focus on growth and the development of both individual players and the teams as a whole. I hope to see Marist succeed in 2019 and well into the future as a supportive, strong and united club. |
